As you may know, cart minimums area great tool to get a buyer to increase the order volume (AOV). How is this done? When you set up a threshold, fast shipping will not be offered for free until the cart reaches this value*, thus the buyers will be compelled to add to the cart to get free shipping. In addition to that, you can set a price for them to pay for fast shipping regardless. Either way they choose to ship at that point is a win for you.

But be careful! There is a downside to these settings: cart abandonment. If you take away unconditional fast shipping, a certain buyer may abandon the cart. What the right threshold should be is up to you to find out, however, we have seen that sellers who set their threshold in the range of x1.4-x1.6 of their average product price had the most success. If you do this and see sales falling, consider lowering the threshold.

*Note that coupons and promo codes are not factored in. For example, if a cart value is $50 before a $10 coupon is applied, we will consider the value to be $50. Also, Cart Minimums will only work when all products in the cart have Fast Shipping badges (if not, we'll ask the buyer to first split up the cart get Fast Shipping).
